Men don't always have the best ideas when it comes to women . . .

I love old musicals! This one, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, is a hoot! In this scene, the seven brothers were talking about how they each had girls they loved down in the town. Their problem is that soon their mountain home would be snowed in and they wouldn't get to see the girls for months and by that time the girls might be married.

So, their "brilliant" brother tells them a story about a group of Romans who snatched a bunch of girls and made them their wives. The idea being that it worked for them, why not for us?

It is good to remember that men don't always have the best ideas when it comes to women . . .

Yeah. Of course their plan doesn't go as smoothly as they imagined it would. Shocker. They had to go through a period of banishment to the barn and begging forgiveness.

I highly recommend this movie. It is fun in a "Everybody has to learn the true meaning of love" kind of way.

True Love vs. Exploitation : The ultimate examples

I've talked a lot this week about what true love is and isn't. I've given examples, and I've shared quotes and opinions.

In reality, there are far too many people who are dealing with more than their fair share of exploitation or the effects of exploitation, and not enough True Love from someone who should be giving it. 

So, have you seen the graphic above? Always remember that there are those who will love you always. They are there through thick and thin. There is no love that could ever match that of Christ and Heavenly Father's. 

On the other hand, the adversary will always want you to be the lowest possible. His message is the opposite of love. And there is no hate that could ever match that of the Adversary's.

Two sides here. Both wanting your attention. 

We don't always get to choose our lots in life. But this here is your decision completely. Choosing to remember Christs love, the truest love ever, is your choice. 

Sometimes our situations or other people try to choose the opposite of true love for us. But in this it is not their/ its choice. Because of Christ, we are all part of the truest love there is. No matter what others do, I am given that true love.

And I'm divorced, so you know that I am completely sincere in what I am saying. This is true, no matter your relationship status.

If you are struggling with true love this Valentine's day, remember this. That Christ died in order to give you the truest love available. It is yours, and no one can take it from you. 

So, from one loved person to another, Have a Happy Valentine's Day. We are given the love that truly counts. The love that is most important.

Online vs. Real Women

"But I am right here. How could you go looking for something totally fake and bad when something totally real and good is right in front of you."

It's hard to fathom.

Do you think if a pornography addict was being mugged and Superman came to rescue him, he'd turn superman away and just show the mugger a picture of superman?

Because yeah, that's about how much sense the addiction makes too.

Because it isn't about superman. Superman can be awesome and have super strength and speed and the addict would still have his addiction.

Wait, I think I got that wrong . . .

Because it isn't about the wife. The wife can be awesome and creepily and falsely "perfect" in every way and the addict would still have his addiction.

In real life, woman are REAL. Our bodies aren't perfect, and most of us are just trying to get everything done in the short 24 hours we humans like to call: a day!

But none of that matters. We are real. We are hopeful, and want the best in life. We are REAL! We are GOOD! We are of WORTH!

But the addiction has taken over. Which means that very real, good things won't be receiving the attention they deserve.

But it helps to know that it isn't personal (even if the addict says it is). Someone else's choices can not effect my worth. And someone else's issues do not reflect on me.

I can be real, and that is NORMAL.
